Stop one
Out the front door
The corridor first, then the street. He does not carry me under his arm like a normal person. He holds me out ahead of him so I arrive everywhere first.
Stop two
Held up in the shop
Aisle four, in front of the shelves, so I can be shown things. I have been asked my opinion on rice twice. I do not have one. He waits anyway.
Stop three
Down on the platform
People look at me. Then at him. Then back at me. I hold eye contact because I have nothing else to do with my face at this height.
The arrangement
I could get down. I have decided not to.
My legs work. The ground is right there. But the view is better up here and I have not paid for anything in two years.
